I had a much needed day off today. Iris and I spent the morning (of course it rained!) at the Mall of America with my friend Rachel and her son, Jonathan. Iris loved all the space to wander and explore. She and Jonathan had fun at LegoLand too!
We spent the morning at the Children's Museum. We joined in January when I was desperate to find things outside of our house to do. It is really an enjoyable place to go, and now that Iris is walking she can really keep up!
Iris has a new favorite snack - raisins! She walks to the cupboard where we keep them and points and dances for raisins. She also uses sign language (she knows only one sign - "more") to tell us she is still hungry.
One of the ways I survived my introduction to parenthood was by joining a new parent group. The best thing about it was I met Kristin, Caitlin, and Michelle and their daughters who are exactly Iris's age. Here are some pics of playing at the park!
So my mom saved this coat that used to be mine - in the spring of 1979! It is 30 years old and still in great condition! Its perfect for Iris this spring. We have a lot of fun walking down the block collecting pine cones and saying "hi" to all the neighbors.
We took Iris to the zoo for the first time last weekend. I'm not so sure she liked the big animals, but she sure enjoyed picking up leaves and playing in dirt.
