A Perfect Weekend

Memorial Day weekend may have been one of my favorite weekends ever. It was the perfect combination of play, productivity, and relaxation. We ended the weekend by planting a tree (I am still missing my enormous silver maple that had to removed last year) I am sure in about 15 years we will have fantastic shade from the new tree...Iris enjoyed splashing in the hose when we watered the new tree.

Milwaukee!

My brother graduated from college this weekend! Way to go little brother! So we headed to Milwaukee to celebrate. We had a great time having dinner with family. Iris was able to see her grandparents, uncles, and aunts. Iris had a blast swimming in the hotel pool. She went swimming 3 times in one day. We toured some very beautiful gardens and Iris enjoyed smelling the flowers.

Little Red Wagon

Well, this is a rare event with Iris actually sitting in her wagon. Most of the time it is our dear Poquito who rides along (we can't bear to leave him home but he is too old to walk more than a block!) But tonight Iris gave the wagon a try. But not for long...she wanted out so she could nose around other people's yards. We think she would walk right in to someone else's house if we let her...she has no boundaries! Thankfully our neighborhood is full of toddlers so people are used to it.

For My Grandpa

Thursday the 7th is a very special day although he would not choose to acknowledge this himself...It is Grandpa's birthday! Iris would like to wish her grandpa a happy birthday! In true introvert style, the rumor is Grandpa will spending his birthday alone hitting golf balls...

A birthday hug from Iris!

Night Out!

Uncle Seth and Aunt Nikki came over last Saturday to give Tom and me a much needed night out!! Despite an abundance of ready and willing babysitters (aunts and uncles, friends, and neighbors!) I never accept these kind offers because I miss Iris so much during the week I can't bear to leave her again on the weekend... But last Sat worked out so well I might just have to do date night again! Iris had a great time playing with her uncle and aunt, thanks guys for making the trip to Minneapolis and caring for our girl so we could go to dinner!
